𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐃𝐑 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬
𝟐𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: On November 20th 2025, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Conference on Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration of Child Soldiers, Honorable Sering Modou Njie, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, held separate bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Equatorial Guinea and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
Foreign Minister Njie met with His Excellency Marcos Mba Ondo, Minister Delegate of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and the Diaspora of Equatorial Guinea. Both parties reaffirmed their readiness to enhance and strengthen the fraternal bilateral relations enjoyed by the two sister countries.
In a separate meeting, H.E. Sering Modou Njie met with the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Hon. Hanana Ould SIDI. H.E. Njie expressed his appreciation to the Minister and the Government of Mauritania for the support rendered to the Republic of The Gambia during its hosting of the 15th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in 2024. He also noted with satisfaction and appreciation the ongoing assistance provided by the brotherly government of Mauritania to The Gambia, particularly in support of The Gambia Armed Forces.
For his part, the Mauritanian Minister congratulated Hon. Njie on his appointment as The Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. He reiterated his country’s commitment to continuous support and collaboration with The Gambia in pursuit of national development.
